I flew and connected! “Haikyu the Movie!! Battle at the Garbage Dump” box office revenue exceeds 10 billion yen

The theatrical anime ``Haikyu the Movie!! Battle at the Garbage Dump'' has exceeded 10 billion yen in box office revenue.

The anime "Haikyu!!" series depicts the world of high school volleyball, based on Haruichi Furudate's manga of the same name. In the movie version, the battle between Karasuno High School and Nekoma High School, commonly known as the "Battle at the Garbage Dump," will take place, following the battle against Inarizaki High School in the 4th season. In the 75 days from its release to April 30th, the number of viewers was 6.99 million.

The 6th giveaway for visitors starting May 3rd is a "player directory-style bromide" for Karasuno High School Volleyball Club and Nekoma High School Volleyball Club. Additionally, a web version of the Shinjuku Wall 456 outdoor advertising commemorating the huge hit, featuring the theme song "Orange" by SPYAIR, is now available on YouTube.

Celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Precious G.E.M. series, a re-release is announced. "Fullmetal Alchemist," a battle fantasy by Hiromu Arakawa, was serialized in "Monthly Shonen Gangan" from 2001 to 2010. It follows the journey of brothers Edward and Alphonse, who performed the taboo human transmutation and, standing on the brink of despair, embark on a quest to regain everything they lost.

The TV series aired 51 episodes starting in 2003, followed by "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" with 64 episodes from 2009.

Haikyu Anime Celebrates 10th Anniversary With New Project!

It's been 10 years since hit volleyball anime Haikyu!! first aired, and they're celebrating in style with a project that includes special visuals, and exhibition, and more!

The visuals star Karasuno High's Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama in addition to rival school Nekoma High's Kenma Kozume and Tetsuro Kuroo.

An exhibition will also be held in Tokyo (July 13-August 4), Sendai (August 11-19), and Fukuoka (September 14-October 9), with other cities set to be announced.

Haruichi Furudate, the original manga's author, has revealed a series of school banners and logos, including new designs that weren't featured in the manga. They will also be used in merchandise released for the 10th anniversary.

The project will end in 2025 with a finale event that is yet to be revealed.

Inspired by Haruichi Furudate’s popular volleyball manga, Haikyuu!! follows the adventures of Karasuno High School's boys volleyball team as they play their way to the top.

The TV anime began on April 6, 2014, and concluded in 2020 with a fourth season. It was followed by a series of compilation films, and two anime films will serve as the series finale. The first, Haikyu!! the Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump, was released on February 16, 2024.

Originally a manga by Karuho Shiina, Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You follows a high school student named Sawako Kuronuma, who is misunderstood by classmates due to looking like Sadako from horror movie The Ring. However, her world changes when Shota Kazehaya, a popular boy from her class, ignores this and begins to talk to her.

The TV anime's first season aired from October 2009 to March 2010, with a second season following from January to March 2011.

The manga was also adapted into a live action film and TV drama released in 2010 and 2023 respectively.

Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You Season 3 will stream worldwide on Netflix from August 2024.

Starring Conan and Kaito Kid as they appear in the anime film Detective Conan: One Million Dollar Five-Pointed Star, the visual is based on the Japanese poster for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

Originally a manga series by Gosho Aoyama, Detective Conan revolves around high school detective Shinichi Kudo, who has reverted to the appearance of a small child after being poisoned by the mysterious Black Organisation.

The franchise's 27th film, Detective Conan: One Million Dollar Five-Pointed Star follows Conan's latest adventures in Hakodate, a city in the northern prefecture of Hokkaido.

Detective Conan: One Million Dollar Five-Pointed Star opened at theaters across Japan on April 12, 2024. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire was released in the US on March 29, 2024.

The company is enhancing its system to analyze trends in real-time based on business operations that analyze insights from consumers in their teens to early twenties.

Kyosuke Sonoda, President of WEGO, reiterated his focus on "WEGO1.3.5...", stating, "We want to increase the motivation of teenage customers to visit our store. We aim to respond promptly to trends and want our customers to feel that they can encounter something new whenever they come here."

"WEGO1.3.5..." started in 2017 as a business format dealing mainly with miscellaneous goods such as stationery, centered around three price points: 100 yen, 300 yen, and 500 yen.

The store has expanded its range of fashionable goods, such as sunglasses and bracelets, and smartphone keychains, and suggests combining them with some apparel. Akira Toriyama’s Pre-Death Message Released with Launch of Original Game

On April 25th, the official X account (formerly Twitter) for the game software "SAND LAND" updated to release a pre-death message from Akira Toriyama, the manga artist and original author of the game, who passed away in March due to acute subdural hematoma at the age of 68.

This update was made on the release day of "SAND LAND." The account shared comments Toriyama made in January while viewing footage of the game in development. He expressed, "Although I haven't seen everything yet, the original manga's world has been expanded significantly, adding lots of fun elements with high quality. It seems to be a highly satisfying action RPG when seen as a standalone game, without any flattery."

Regarding the game's setting, he continued, "New worlds and characters, such as Forest Land which wasn't in the original, have been added. You can enjoy a more enriched story and extensive map adventures while playing as the demon prince."

Toriyama himself commented on the game, "I only play casual games, but I keep an eye on the modern games my family plays, and for an old guy, I think I know quite a bit," showing his self-deprecating humor.

"SAND LAND" is set in a world transformed into a desert by natural disasters. It tells the story of the devil's sons embarking on a quest for water to solve the crisis. Despite being a short series released in 2000, it has gained popularity worldwide for its unique world and story. The trailer features ending theme song "Get Wild Continual" by TM Network, the band behind "Get Wild," the ending theme song for the TV anime's first season.

Originally a manga by Tsukasa Hojo, City Hunter follows private detective and "sweeper" Ryo Saeba, whose associate Hideyuki Makimura is murdered by gangsters. This leaves him to take care of Makimura's younger sister, Kaori, who also becomes his new partner.

The manga debuted in 1985, followed by a TV anime adaptation that began in 1987. It also received a series of anime films.

The upcoming film is the franchise's first Japanese live action film. Directed by Yuichi Sato, it will star Ryohei Suzuki as Ryo and Misato Morita as Kaori.
