‘Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru’ បញ្ចប់
The manga “Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru” (When Will Ayumu Make His Move?) by Souichirou Yamamoto concluded its run in the 50th issue of Weekly Shounen Magazine, wrapping up with chapter 225 on Wednesday.
Initiated in March 2019, Yamamoto’s romantic comedy was serialized in Weekly Shounen Magazine. As of October 17, Kodansha has released 16 volumes, with the 17th and concluding volume set for release on December 15.
The English version of the manga, licensed by Kodansha USA in March 2021, saw its 13th volume released on September 17, and the 14th volume is poised for release on November 21.
An anime adaptation by SILVER LINK., spanning 12 episodes, aired during the Summer of 2022. Sentai Filmworks acquired the anime’s license and streamed it with English subtitles on HIDIVE.
Synopsis
In a spur-of-the-moment decision, first-year student Ayumu Tanaka leaves the Kendo Club to join the unofficial Shogi Club. Urushi Yaotome, the club president and a shogi prodigy, is excited to have a new player to challenge. As Ayumu’s senior, Urushi takes on the dual role of his shogi guide and academic mentor. However, her composure often falters around him, especially when Ayumu innocently calls her “cute.” Ayumu harbors feelings for her but holds back a confession, vowing to first defeat her in shogi.
Their school life is filled with humorous and touching moments around shogi. Ayumu cherishes his time with Urushi but still struggles to win a game against her. With his self-imposed promise, will Ayumu ever manage to confess his feelings?
