The much-anticipated “Theatrical Version of Haikyuu!! The Battle of the Garbage Dump” is set to be released on February 16, 2024. Ahead of this eagerly awaited “final battle,” advance ticket sales featuring 17 characters will start at 5 PM on December 1st. Fans can look forward to dynamic action visuals of 9 characters from the Karasuno Volleyball Club.
“Haikyuu!!” is a landmark sports manga by Haruichi Furudate, serialized in Shueisha’s “Weekly Shonen Jump” starting February 2012. It’s a passionate coming-of-age drama about high school students dedicated to volleyball, gaining immense popularity. The series concluded in July 2020 after an 8-and-a-half-year run, with the total circulation of its 45 volumes exceeding 60 million copies.
The TV anime, which began with its first season in 2014, produced up to its fourth season, “Haikyuu!! TO THE TOP,” by December 2020. The theatrical version serves as the sequel to this fourth season, being produced as a two-part FINAL series. “The Battle of the Garbage Dump” will depict one of the most popular episodes from the manga, “Karasuno High School VS Aoba Johsai High School,” as the first part of the movie.
