TV anime “One Piece” and Meiji are collaborating to produce chocolates featuring exclusive illustrations of characters like Luffy, Zoro, and Nami among others, with nine characters in total. A limited quantity of the “Meiji One Piece Collab Complete BOX” will also be available.
“One Piece,” created by Eiichiro Oda, started serialization in “Weekly Shonen Jump” in 1997 and has become one of Japan’s most successful comics, with a total worldwide circulation exceeding 500 million. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, as they seek the legendary treasure left by the “Pirate King” Gol D. Roger, known as the “One Piece.”
The series, which began serialization in 1997 and was adapted into a TV anime in 1999, will celebrate its 25th anniversary in October 2024. Special commemorative events and a dedicated website have been launched, including the “One Piece Emotion” event starting on August 12 in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
