It’s worth noting that the James duo combined for 19 points in their debut, with LeBron contributing all 19 points. In contrast, Bronny’s more notable statistics were 4 turnovers and 3 fouls, as he did not score any points.
Prior to this, the other three major U.S. sports leagues had seen four instances of “father-son” duos: NFL’s Ted Nesser played alongside his son Charlie; NHL’s Gordie Howe was on the same team as his son Mark; in MLB, Ken Griffey Jr. played with his father Ken Griffey Sr., and Tim Raines also played with his son Tim Raines Jr.

However, Bronny appeared a bit nervous during his time on the court. In his 4 minutes of play, he had a turnover from a steal, another turnover from traveling, and a foul while setting a screen. His only shot attempt came from a pass by LeBron, but Bronny’s three-pointer missed the mark.
Interestingly, this memorable “father-son” day coincided with Bronny’s 20th birthday.
In total, Bronny played 13 minutes, with no points on 1 shot attempt, 2 rebounds, and 4 turnovers. Meanwhile, LeBron finished with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, and 4 turnovers.
Despite Bronny’s less-than-stellar stats, his performance did not dampen his spirits about sharing the court with his father. Notably, this historic NBA milestone happened to fall on Bronny’s 20th birthday, and the Lakers organized a birthday cake for him. LeBron also shared a video of the cake on social media.
