It is also the first 3D MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) in the main series. Developed by Square Enix and operated by Shengqu Games, this entry introduces a unique blend of traditional command-based gameplay with a new free-moving, turn-based combat system, significantly enhancing tactical depth and tension! The game also features a distinctive support companion system, allowing players to explore at their own pace across six distinct continents, each filled with colorful characters waiting to be discovered.
In this title, players will experience the largest army battles in the series’ history. Soldiers fight with personal will and determination, making the battlefield feel more immersive. Enemies attacking in coordinated waves are tough to defeat, so relying solely on one’s own strength won’t suffice. Players will need to team up with allies to advance and clear paths. With careful preparation and pushing the frontlines forward, players can launch surprise attacks alongside their comrades, engaging in massive battles with thousands of soldiers in a way never seen before.
Additionally, players can use “Tactics” on the battlefield to issue commands to nearby allies or guards. These tactics include commands like “March Forward” and “Cavalry Charge.” When used in the right situation, these commands can have a huge impact. The key is to stay aware of the battlefield and work together with your companions to turn the tide in your favor.
The game features a vast world represented by a “Continental Map” that showcases a grand three-nation war. The protagonist must journey across the continent and advance the story. Along the way, historical large-scale battles will take place, as well as events like rebellions or rescue missions. Players will also encounter generals, and by building relationships with them, they can unlock various benefits.
Scattered across the “Continental Map” are several towns, where players can purchase weapons and use inns as resting points. These inns also allow for the crafting of special accessories, called “Gems,” or reading letters sent by the generals.
