Spoonful of Wonder’s development team has unveiled their new game, “Copycat”. In this game, the story unfolds from the perspective of a rescued cat that’s been brought into a new home, having been displaced by another cat that looks strikingly similar to itself. The game is slated for release on platforms including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Mac.
Following the recently released and highly acclaimed “Stray”, this game also progresses from the perspective of a cat. At the heart of the narrative is a cat named “Dawn”. The story is deeply explored in the game, with players’ choices occasionally influencing the direction of the narrative. Spoonful of Wonder describes, “Dawn perceives himself as a wild cat and is always on the lookout for an opportunity to flee. However, his perspective changes after meeting Olive, an elderly woman deeply saddened by the loss of her beloved cat. A profound bond develops between the two, as they find solace in each other’s company. Yet, as Olive’s health deteriorates, another cat that mimics Dawn’s appearance emerges, and Dawn finds himself ousted from his place. As he roams the streets trying to find his way back home, one has to wonder: Will Olive recognize him when he returns? And, faced with two cats, which one will Olive choose? Or is it possible that Dawn was actually the imposter all along?”
