Taiwanese game publisher Koei Tecmo recently announced that “Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake” is set to debut in early 2024. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and the Steam platform. Alongside this announcement, the company also launched the game’s official website and trailer. Notably, the game will be featured at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS 2023) to be held from September 21st to 24th at the Makuhari Messe exhibition hall in Chiba City, Japan.
According to Koei Tecmo’s official statement, this latest installment is a comprehensive remake based on the classic 2001 historical simulation game “Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII,” along with its enhanced version. The new game not only retains core features like the “All Generals Playable System” and “All-Era Scenarios,” but it will also utilize the company’s most advanced technology to offer more detailed graphics and a completely upgraded game system.
At the upcoming TGS 2023 event, Koei Tecmo plans to show actual gameplay footage and distribute specially made “Kongming fans” as souvenirs. Additionally, the company is slated to reveal the latest information about the game during their live stream program “KOEI TECMO LIVE! in TGS2023” on September 22, 2023.
More than two decades have passed since the original release of “Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII.” As the latest entry in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series, this remake aims to reignite players’ passion for this classic historical theme.
