Major game studio Remedy Entertainment has shared an intriguing update about their highly anticipated new title, “Alan Wake 2”, which will be especially good news for PS5 and Xbox Series X users.
According to the studio’s public relations manager, Thomas Puha, “Alan Wake 2” has been developed with a 30fps performance in mind. This 30fps setting is designed to maximize the game’s stunning graphics and its unique eerie atmosphere. However, for the users of the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, a faster “performance mode” is also planned.
Puha commented, “Although ‘Alan Wake 2’ was developed emphasizing visuals and atmosphere at 30fps, we were able to incorporate a new performance mode. Detailed information will be announced later.”
However, while he confirmed the existence of this mode for the Xbox Series X, there was no specific mention of the Xbox Series S. On this matter, IGN US has reached out to Remedy Entertainment for an official comment.
As additional information from Puha, in scenes featuring one of the protagonists, Saga Anderson, maintaining the frame rate becomes an even greater challenge due to the advanced lighting and abundant environmental details.
Moreover, the creative director, Sam Lake, has revealed that “Alan Wake 2” shares a common universe with titles like “Bright Falls”, “CONTROL”, and “Max Payne”, making this a significant topic of discussion among fans.
The much-anticipated “Alan Wake 2” is set to be released on October 27, 2023, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
