The collaboration event “Dragon Quest Carnival in Yokohama Minato Mirai,” featuring the popular game “Dragon Quest,” is being held from July 20 to August 18. The event is organized with the cooperation of Square Enix and special support from the City of Yokohama and the Yokohama City Tourism Association.
At Landmark Plaza and MARK IS Minato Mirai, visitors can enjoy balloon decorations of the familiar monster “Slime” and experience slime coloring activities.
At Sky Garden, a special exhibition is being held to commemorate the release of the HD-2D version of “Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation.” This exhibition features development materials with handwritten comments by game designer Yuji Horii, original illustrations by manga artist Akira Toriyama, who designed the characters, and handwritten sheet music by composer Koichi Sugiyama, making it a must-see for fans.
Photo spots where visitors can take pictures with popular monster statues are set up at various locations. There are also stamp rallies, a pop-up store selling original merchandise, and a collaboration cafe where guests can enjoy menus inspired by the monsters, among other attractions.
From August 9 to 18, a special performance featuring a giant Slime will appear on the large Ferris wheel “Cosmo Clock 21,” and on August 10, there will be a fireworks display. Visitors can experience the world of Dragon Quest throughout the entire Minato Mirai area.
