Reservation-only ‘Chiikawa Ramen Buta’ opens for a limited time!

“Chiikawa Ramen Buta” is a limited-time pop-up shop inspired by the ramen shop featured in the popular manga “Chiikawa” by illustrator Nagano. Previously, the “Rou” ramen series, which recreates ramen dishes from the manga, has been a hit at “Chiikawa Cafe,” “Chiikawa Diner,” and “Chiikawa Restaurant.” The shop offers a menu of ramen and drinks, including three sizes of ramen: “Mini (Chiikawa),” “Small (Hachiware),” and “Large (Usagi).”

Each bowl of ramen comes in an original donburi, generously topped with bean sprouts and chashu pork, making for a hearty meal. Each also features character-shaped fish cake garnishes adding a playful touch.

The drink menu includes black oolong tea with original labels, Shisa mandarin juice, Momonga white soda, Kurimanjuu non-alcoholic cola during the prohibition period, and draft beer served in an original mug. Each drink is served in a glass adorned with the “Ramen Buta” logo and Chiikawa designs.

The shop operates on a reservation-only basis and is almost always fully booked. It’s an irresistible spot for fans of Chiikawa.

“Pokémon” characters like Pikachu and Snorlax turn into “cosmetics” in a collaboration with “&be.”

&be has collaborated with Pokémon to launch the “Pokémon Collaboration Collection.” This collection features two popular base items in limited edition designs and will be available in Japan from June 1st in limited quantities.

The collection is themed “Be Thoughtful. High Five with Everyone! With Pokémon, let’s care for our skin and each other,” and features Pokémon engaging in high fives in the limited edition designs.

The popular sunscreen makeup primer “UV Primer” (SPF50 PA++++ available in four colors) is packaged with images of Pikachu, Snorlax, Jigglypuff, and Eevee. When the four tubes are lined up, they create a design that looks like the Pokémon are high-fiving each other. The new color “Sky Glow” in this collaboration introduces a light blue pearl that enhances the skin’s natural translucency, along with the existing colors “Shiny Glow,” “Peach Glow,” and “Standard.” The hybrid item “Fancealer” (SPF20 PA++ available in three colors), which serves both as foundation and concealer, features Pikachu and Eevee smiling and high-fiving, and is available in a palette combining orange and skin colors.

SEGA has announced an audition to recruit actresses for its upcoming title in the “Yakuza” series, titled the “Minato Ward Women Audition for the New Yakuza Game.” Starting May 10, 2024, the audition is open to women over the age of 20 residing in Japan. “Chiikawa Goshuin” Resale Alert Issued by Official

The official X account issued a warning against the resale of “Chiikawa Goshuin” from Gokokuji Temple on flea market apps.

Located in Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, the main temple Gokokuji offers a special “Chiikawa seal” in addition to the regular temple seal to visitors who bring the “Nanka Hikatte Tabitaku Naru Goshuincho” stamp book included with the special edition of the sixth volume of the Chiikawa comics and pay a fee of 500 yen.

The daily limit of 200 tickets usually runs out within an hour due to popularity, and the rarity of this temple-specific event has led to resale activities.

In response, the official Chiikawa comics X account stated, “Goshuin are given as proof of pilgrimage, akin to receiving blessings from the principal image of worship. We kindly ask for your understanding and to refrain from disrespectful actions such as reselling.”

The post also mentioned that the event runs until June 30, providing ample time for anyone interested. “The same Goshuin can be obtained at any time during the event. Please visit Gokokuji at your convenience and receive your Goshuin personally,” the post encouraged.

Sega Sammy Holdings recently disclosed this information during the release of their financial results for March 2024. The game “Persona5: The Phantom X,” developed through a licensing agreement between Sega and China’s Perfect World, is crafted for iOS and Android platforms. It is developed under the supervision of Atlus’s Persona Studio and features an original story about a new group of Phantom Thieves, based on the world and fundamental settings of “Persona 5.”

Zoff x Chiikawa’s second collaboration quickly sells out online reservations.

The eyewear brand “Zoff” has teamed up with “Chiikawa” once again for a second collaboration, launching on May 8 with advance reservations starting to sell out quickly due to high demand.

This new collaboration features characters like “Chiikawa,” “Hachiware,” “Usagi,” and newly added “Momonga” and “Kurimanjuu.” Themed around vacation, the collection includes 22 unique items featuring Zoff’s original artwork. The product line showcases frames and sunglasses designed with three-dimensional character parts and adorable accessories like eyeglass wipes and stand cases depicting Chiikawa and friends sitting snugly while wearing sunglasses.

Advance reservations kicked off at 11 AM on May 8th via Zoff’s official online store, but by the afternoon, many items had already sold out, leading to frustration among fans on social media. Comments on social media included complaints about server issues preventing purchases, requests for made-to-order production, and concerns about the inconvenient timing for working people, with some hoping to find the collection in physical stores.

The in-store sales will start on May 31st at Zoff stores nationwide, as well as the Zoff official online store.

An all-in-one nail product has been launched by the Paris-based vegan nail brand “Manucurist”.

Paris-based vegan nail brand Manucurist is set to launch its all-in-one “Active Series” nails on June 5th. The lineup includes “Glow Raspberry,” “Glow Blueberry,” “Shine,” “Smooth,” and “Bright” (each 15mL, priced at ¥3,850 including tax). The Active Series, devised by Parisian nail specialists, represents a new kind of all-in-one nail product. Unlike traditional nail polish, it combines base coat, color polish, and top coat in one bottle. “SHIBUYA TSUTAYA” is Born: Shibuya’s New Landmark Transitions from Rentals to Intellectual Property

On April 25th, SHIBUYA TSUTAYA, a symbol tower in Tokyo’s Shibuya district, reopened after renovations. The concept of the renewal is “Create the world with what you love.” The store now includes shops specializing in popular anime merchandise and a dedicated space for playing “Pokémon” trading card games, aimed at attracting young adults in their 20s and 30s as well as foreign visitors.

Located in front of the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, SHIBUYA TSUTAYA first opened its doors on December 31, 1999. Known for its extensive inventory as a rental shop, it also sells CDs, DVDs, books, and magazines, serving as TSUTAYA’s flagship store.

The renovation focused on three main points: Intellectual Property (IP), spatial and experiential value, and a platform for global promotion. “Previously, we focused on movies, music, games, and anime, but now we aim to broadly embrace IP including VTubers, fashion, electronics, and food. Regarding spatial and experiential value, surveys in Shibuya indicated a high demand for more cafes and rest spaces. To address this, we’ve included a Starbucks and a shared lounge area to straightforwardly meet these needs. However, we are not simply integrating existing concepts but adding unique Shibuya elements,” said Takahiro Kamata, Executive Producer of the Shibuya Project at Culture Convenience Club.

SHIBUYA TSUTAYA spans two basement levels and eight floors above ground. Like before, Starbucks is located on the second floor, and there is also a take-out only Starbucks on the first floor. A studio is planned for the eighth floor, expected to open later in the summer.
